Plank table

This is not just a table. It is a piece of art in solid oak. There is only this one.

Use it as a dining table. Use it as a desk. Or hang it on the wall like a painting.

This particular tableThe top is made from three planks of honey-golden oak. The middle plank is a shade darker, a warmer brown, giving the table a calm centre between two lighter sides. Small, dark, wavy lines run across the grain over the whole surface – the oak's own handwriting. Along one edge sit a couple of small dark knots, and one long side has a gentle curve instead of being dead straight.

No two tables are alikeThe wood draws its own pattern, so this table exists only once – unique and exclusive, yet still a table for everyday use. It is solid wood all the way through, not veneer. Veneer is a thin layer of wood glued onto a cheap board: it cannot be sanded, and a deep scratch or water damage stays for good. Solid wood can be sanded and refreshed, so the table lasts for generations and will look just as timeless and elegant in twenty years.

An investment, not just a purchaseSolid wood without lacquer can be sanded down and cared for again, so the table can be used, worn and renewed, time and again. It grows more beautiful with the years.
