Plank table

This is not just a table. It is a piece of art in solid Indian palisander (Sheesham), also known as Indian rosewood, with the wood's characteristic golden stripes. There is only this one.

Use it as a dining table. Use it as a desk. Or hang it on the wall like a painting.

This particular tableA table of strong contrasts: dark, reddish-brown bands of heartwood run the full length of the top, side by side with pale, honey-golden areas of sapwood. In one of the dark bands the edge against the pale wood curves in small arcs, and along it sits a row of small, round knots like pearls on a string. At the front a large dark area spreads out, with grain that swirls and flames, while the pale parts are finely striped. The edges are straight, and the top stands on black steel trestles.

No two tables are alikeThe wood draws its own pattern, so this table exists only once – unique and exclusive, yet still a table for everyday use. It is solid wood all the way through, not veneer. Veneer is a thin layer of wood glued onto a cheap board: it cannot be sanded, and a deep scratch or water damage stays for good. Solid wood can be sanded and refreshed, so the table lasts for generations and will look just as timeless and elegant in twenty years.

An investment, not just a purchaseThe wood has already lasted more than 50 years, and it will last for generations more. Solid wood without lacquer can be sanded down and cared for again, so the table can be used, worn and renewed, time and again. It grows more beautiful with the years.
